A signing bonus is usually supplemental wages, not a second salary. Google suggests “signing bonus after taxes” and “signing bonus after tax calculator.” This page preloads an $80,000 salary plus a $10,000 signing bonus so you can see regular take-home plus the supplemental sketch. It is not a second copy of the national bonus calculator.

Federal withholding on a signing bonus often uses the IRS optional flat 22% on supplemental wages (37% on supplemental wages over $1,000,000). Employers may instead use the aggregate method on a combined check. This engine shows the flat supplemental sketch for planning cash, not filing a return.
FICA still applies. Social Security stops at the $184,500 2026 wage base; Medicare does not. California adds a simplified PIT increment plus 1.3% SDI on the bonus in this model. Texas zeros the state income-tax line on the same $10,000 bonus.
Use the national bonus calculator if you only care about the supplemental field, or the California-with-bonus page for a CA-first layout. Reviewed October 2, 2026.

FAQ
What tax rate is a signing bonus?
This page uses the IRS optional 22% federal supplemental rate (37% over $1M), plus FICA and a simplified state line. Your stub may use aggregate withholding instead.
Is a signing bonus taxed twice?
No. The bonus field is extra gross this year. Combined take-home is regular net plus bonus after those extra taxes.
Is this the same as the bonus paycheck calculator?
Same bonus engine. This URL matches the “signing bonus after taxes” search phrasing with a $10,000 sample.
